We close our season with a celebration of singing. From Jessie Montgomery’s exploration of the U.S. anthem, Banner, we move to Copland’s classic Old American Songs. Finally, we close our season with Beethoven’s towering Symphony No. 9, ending with the iconic Ode to Joy. Featuring the DSSO, the DSSO Chorus and a quartet of vocal soloists, our performance marks the end of the DSSO’s Beethoven Project. This undertaking started in 2016 and included the performance and recording of all of Beethoven’s nine symphonies, in collaboration with Minnesota Public Radio.
