After a winter break, Dr. Benson will return to conduct Some Like It Scot! at 7:30pm, Saturday, March 11th, 2023. Mendelssohn’s Third Symphony, also known as his “Scottish Symphony” for its incorporation of Scottish folk melodies, is the basis for the spring concert program. Violinist Tomás Cotik will join OES for a performance of Astor Piazzolla’s “Four Seasons of Buenos Aires”. Also to be performed is African-American composer Jessie Montgomery’s “Strum”.
